Thanks to our speakers, panelists, partner organizations and the attendees for making the 2008 Ohio Biz/Bio Event a success!
Innovation is the driving force of the bioscience industry. A collective combination of biotechnology, life sciences and biomedical research, bioscience represents a major source of potential economic development, bringing with it high paying jobs and an educated workforce.
More and more states, regional partnerships, counties and municipalities are trying to attract and establish bioscience clusters in their respective areas. In order to meet this challenge, key sectors supporting the industry, including government, business, academic institutions and investment entities must first better understand it.
The Biz/Bio Program was established to build “bridges of understanding” between these key sectors to establish and maintain a healthy environment for building and sustaining local and regional bioscience clusters. To do this, a series of Biz/Bio forums are organized, highlighting both positive and negative actions that impact the promotion and development of a strong bioscience presence.
To achieve our goals, we have formed a national promotional partnership to sponsor and promote the Biz/Bio event forums. These partners include the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
